Hawes' visit (May 2 - 11)

The day after my parents and grand parents left for Houston, the Hawes' arrived - John, Georgia, Natalie and her boyfriend, Brian. We had a wonderful time! They managed to squeeze in a LOT of travel in their short time here. We joined them on a Rhine river cruise from St. Goar to Bacharach, which was new for us. It was absolutely beautiful, and started with a castle. It doesn't get much better than that. :) Christian and I joined them for our first whirlwind trip to Luxembourg City. That's a place I would definitely like to go back to. The Hawes' also went on their own to Cologne, Amsterdam, touched on France and visited a couple of cities in Belgium where the Virgin Mary has appeared. They were busy! They relaxed a bit on Thursday and Friday, visiting places in the local area and working around my errands. :) On Saturday we all went to Brugge and enjoyed a canal cruise, an art museum, wonderful chocolate, waffles, and Nat & Brian went to the Salvador Dali museum. We enjoyed all of the traveling, but mostly we enjoyed the company... and the chicken fried steak they made for us. Yum! :)

Christian's favorite part of the cruise -the boat's engine. He had a slight interest in the paddle wheel, but he took us back to the engine repeatedly and watched for quite a while.
