I had no idea what to expect from the boat race on the Wurm River in Muelendorf (near Geilenkirchen), but it was so much fun! There were 54 boats entered in the race - all of them uniquely hand made and most of the people dressed up in rather elaboate costumes. Almost everyone had water balloons/guns/buckets/hoses/etc. It's really less of a race and more about just having fun. Leona arranged for us to have a barbecue. Cliff said it reminded him of being at the Frio. :) It was great!
