This is the surprise 2nd wave (he still laughed) .
Christian in his cool sunglasses and hat
We took Christian to the beach in Den Haag (Netherlands) and he LOVED it! He took off crawling through the sand toward the water immediately - we hadn't even finished setting our stuff down. We had to bring him back, so he went to meet a little boy sitting near us instead. They played together for a little while, even though the boy was much older (maybe 6 or 7?). They were a dutch family - a woman, her son and her mom. I can't remember their names, but they were nice. Christian seems to make new friends wherever we go.
When we did take him down to the water he crawled right into the water. He was facinated with the way the sand felt just after the water receded. :) He crawled around looking at shells for a bit, and then turned to go into the water. He crawled in as far as he could and wanted to go farther, so we held his hands so he could walk in. He loved waiting for the waves to come hit him. :) We would lift him up just as the wave rolled in. He thought it was great. Sometimes there was an unexpected second wave that came pretty quickly after the first. It took his slow parents a few times to figure it out and anticpate it, so he was splashed in the face a few times. He laughed about it though. :)
