Jackson Family: Cologne Christmas Market

We went to our first Christmas market today in Cologne. There were TONS of people. There are actually 7 markets in Cologne, but we only made it to one of them. We went to the one near the Cathedral. There were vendors selling food, drinks, gifts, toys etc. They ranged from trinkety to rather expensive. There was a choir early in the day and some other performers scattered about(which is normal around the cathedral). There was a carousel and some other children's games in the center. Christian seemed to enjoy it for the most part, though he made a game of hitting the people passing by. We lost one of his mittens, so we had to buy him some over priced gloves. But the gloves have a string attaching them together, so hopefully we won't have a problem with them getting lost. The new gloves are thicker, but have no place for his thumb. It's a little funny - he can only paw at things. :) After dark (around 5) they had a group of performers on top of a building just across from the Cathedral. They played songs that we didn't recognize for the most part, but it was really good. There were flames on either side of them that lit up with the music. They were dressed in Dickensian costumes. It was a perfect end to the day. Even Christian was fascinated. Every time they started to play he would stop whatever he was doing to watch. I'll attach a few pictures.
