Christmas Eve

We had a wonderful Christmas holiday (though we, of course, missed our families back in Texas). We had fun playing with Christian, and decided to try starting some family traditions. We read the Christmas story from a children's Bible, but it was still a little long to hold Christian's attention just yet. He sat through most of it though. We made cookies and had a nice dinner. It doesn't sound great, but it was delicious. :) We had split-pea soup with ham, croissants, and a tomato/cucumber/mozzarella salad. Yummm. After Christian went to bed, Cliff and I got to wrap all of his presents and set them out for him to find in the morning. We watched It's A Wonderful Life while we did that. Christian had no idea what was going on. I think he'll catch on next year. :) This year we cleverly hid all of his presents on the stairs behind the baby gate, so they were out of his reach. Every once in a while he would walk by and say "car?" or something else to ask if he could play with the toys. We could distract him pretty easily. Next year we'll probably have to be a bit more creative with that. :) Here are a few pictures.
