Kasteel Erenstein

Today we went to the American Christmas Party in a castle! It was beautiful. We got to dress up and everything. :) We tried to take some pictures when we came in over the moat, but it was too dark. Our night setting wasn't working very well for some reason, but there's a link that will let you see the castle. The "room" link on the far right is where the party was at. I didn't see a link for the room where Christian stayed.

The party went pretty well. They provided child care on-site, which was great for us. When we got there, though, we were a bit leery. There were 3 teenage girls there to take care of a ton of children - mostly younger kids - in a very small room with four large tables using most of the space. There were no toys, unless you include the rifles (I'm sure they were replicas, right?) that were at about waist level and the unblocked stairs (only about five steps, but they were marble). :) There were a lot of lingering parents. Christian was too distracted playing with the other kids to notice the other dangers. We reluctantly left him there and he ended up having a great time. All of the kids were returned safely to their parents. :)

At the party, they served a pretty good dinner and absolutely wonderful desserts. We had a great time visiting with people and just being out for a few hours without Christian. :)
